What is an Article?...besides a noun modifier? Because, if you've come for an English lesson, this isn't the place for you! lol

The type of article I'm explaining here is a "piece" of nonfiction writing about a specific subject that can be published on a website, in a newspaper, or in a magazine.

It is usually relevant for a specific period of time such as an announcement or notice.

An article has a title, a short first paragraph of introduction, (intended to entice the reader to want more information), and a body.

The author can upload a picture or even a video to his writing (if it's an online article.) It ends with a call to action such as clicking on the author's website link, contacting the author, or signing up for a newsletter.

Many writers limit their exposure to publishing articles only on their own websites but it's to the writer's advantage to submit interesting articles to directories as well.

Article directories are data bases of articles available for find information and do research.

Why Write an Article?

When you write articles, it establishes you as an expert in your field thus creating trust in you as a reputable person to do business with.

Once visitors begin to trust you, they are more open to purchasing products from you or joining your opportunity.
Articles are on the internet for a long time so you will basically have a free ad on the net for visitors to see over and over again.

You'll be surprised how much traffic an article can generate. It's well worth the time it takes to learn how to write one.

Searchers find information about a particular subject matter they are looking for and authors get traffic to their article. More visibility to your submission means more chances of someone clicking on the link to your website.

The link creates what is called a backlink. Search engines love backlinks. They increase your search engine rankings which give you even more traffic.

The more traffic to your website, the better chance you have of getting someone to sign up for your newsletter, contacting you about your services, and making a sale.

So... the benefits of learning how to write an article far outweigh any fear you might have tackling the job. It's a win win for both information seekers and authors.
