Generating Leads

The places and ways to generate leads from home business advertising is limited only by your imagination even if you have little or no advertising budget. Take advantage of many of the free places to advertise that I mention below and do some google searching on your own for others.

If you are a member or affiliate of any of our home based businesses, you are welcome to contact us here for additional advertising resources. You will also get free one on one support with getting your advertising in place.

In the meantime, visit our Home Business Marketing Page and take a look at Home Business Leads as well. We have many useful tips there.
Advertise in local newspapers. Depending on your budget, you could place small business ads in local newspapers, gazettes, penny saver papers etc. These places are affordable and help you build a local customer base. It is a good idea to place a running ad where people will see it on a regular basis. Generating home business leads this way requires setting an advertising budget so you don't overspend.

Bulletin boards. Always carry flyers in your car or purse. Never pass up an opportunity to tack a flyer up on a local grocery, laundry mat, or bakery bulletin board. There is no cost to you so take advantage of these outlets.

I can create a flyer for your business similar to this for a simple donation to my paypal account.

Build a Free Webpage on my Site.
Get free home business advertising exposure by building your own webpage on my Christian site. It's easy to do. Just follow the simple instructions.

Click here to create your page.

Business cards. Carry business cards with you at all times. Make pleasant conversation with as many people as you can throughout your day and be sure to pass them a business card before you part. Give them a sample product in exchange for their phone number. Ask them if you can call them the following day for feedback on your product. This is one of the best ways to collect home business leads.

Trade Shows. Keep your eyes and ears open for upcoming trade shows. Trade shows are excellent places to get exposure and new customers. As well, fellow entrepreneurs provide much encouragement as they share information, ideas, and new opportunities to network. You'll be surprised at how many new doors will open for you this way and your lead list will build substantially.

Market Square. If your city has a local market square, consider renting a stall one or 2 days a week. This is a fantastic way to hand out sample products or encourage people to sign up to your newsletter. Talking one on one to potential customers and networking with fellow vendors leads to new opportunities to add new contacts to your customer list.

Build your own website. One of the best ways to generate free leads is to build a website. Creating a form on your site where customers submit their name and email address requesting information is a very effective way to generate leads to follow up on.

Once you start selling products, it's important to pick a good merchant account provider to accept payments. Merchant accounts work as credit card processing machines on your website.

Online classifieds. There are hundreds of free and paid places for home business advertising on the internet. Google search free classifieds and you'll be kept busy for days to come. Check out our favorite free home business advertising spots here.

Blogs. Create your own blog online. Blogs are very popular ways to make new contacts. Blog about something pertaining to your business and you'll be happy to see the numbers of people who are interested in what you have to say. Here's an example of a blog I built for my "Healthy Coffee Business" with blogger.com

Forums. Be sure to join as many forums as you are able to manage. These places are excellent free spots to make new friends and generate home business leads. Simple google search the forum that interests you. eg. "home business forums" or "Work at Home Forums"

Social Networking Sites. Join social networking sites like Myspace and facebook. Start making friends and build your contact list. Join the clubs that pertain to your line of business and begin building relationships. Remember that these people have much to offer you as well as what you are sharing with them.

Newsletter. Every home business owner should have a newsletter to introduce, update and inform contacts of your products and opportunities. Newsletters can be easily sent electronically and so are a very cost effective way to add home business leads to your data base. Sign up for my free "Home Biz Tid Bits" e-zine for free and you'll get an idea of what you can do with a newsletter.

Clubs. Be sure to join AdlandPro and Salespider. You'll be able to create your own clubs, networks, classifieds, and events there. Basic memberships to these sites are free.

Biz to Biz. Giblink is the ultimate (B2B) Business to Business Networking Platform where you can create clubs, chat rooms, blogs, classifieds, e-cards, special events, and forums. Basic membership is free.

These are just a few Home Business Advertising places to get you started. Subscribe to our Home Biz Tid Bits Ezine for more great ideas.
