Genesis 3

Christian Bible Lesson

Christian Bible Lesson

Do you think you are Eve?

1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:

3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

Satan tries to destroy

In Genesis 3, we see Satan had his first victory over man. One thing we have to remember is that the devil is always against God. Every thing that God makes, Satan tries to destroy. God had just finished all of creation. He had made man, gave him a wife, and said it was very good.

Genesis 2: And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

8 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

9 And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Satan Tempts Eve

Man has all the freedom he wants. It is all his except for one tree that God had restricted them to eat. Seems like a pretty simple thing to do. And we think, “how in the world could Eve fall for Satan’s lie?” Satan only had one thing to tempt her with.

  • He could not tempt her with pornography, there was none.
  • He could not tempt her with vanity, she was the only women.
  • He could not tempt her with gossip, they were the only two.
  • He could not tempt her with envy, she was it.
  • He could not tempt her with jealousy, he could not look at another women.
  • He could not tempt her with booze, it did not exist.
  • He could not tempt her with drugs, it was all natural products.

Satan Changed God's Word

Satan could only offer her one thing. That was the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. He knew that he would have to sugar coat it and he did.

Remember that Satan is not stupid. When he was thrown out of heaven he took 1/3 of the angels with him. Satan used God’s word and perverted it and Eve was not smart enough to know the difference.

So called Christians all over the world are still being fooled by perversion. They preach with vigour and fervency but don’t even know they have the wrong tool. Satan always uses imitations so that people think it is ok. There is only one Word of God. There is no easier versions. There is no better version. There is one Word of God and not to be changed.

In Genesis 3, we see that Satan had one way to catch Eve and he was wise enough to do it. How many ways does he have now to catch us? Every where you look sin is rampant. Everyone is doing it so it is easy to just follow the flow.

Adam and Eve did not inherit sin but we did so it is even easier for us to sin. Sin is always wrapped in an appealing package…pleasure and greed. The only problem is that it is only for a short time. You always end up paying the price.

Adam and Eve where told: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. But Satan said yea God don’t want you to be like Him, Ye shall not surely die:

5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

In Genesis 3, we see that Eve believed his lie and took of the fruit. Did she die at that moment? No… so she probably thought that Satan was right. She did not die then because she would have ended up in hell without a chance.

God's Plan

God had to formulate a plan to redeem them. Then they died, having been given a chance to choose to accept or reject the plan, just like everyone of us have this option today.

Adam and Eve never lived the life that God had intended for them. And when God confronted Adam he said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. Then God said to Eve, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.

Stop Blaming Others

The problem with people is that we always try to blame someone for our actions. How many times have you said the devil made me do it. Do you think you are Eve? The devil is not omnipresent he can only be in one place at a time. How important do you think you are? There are 6,841,300,700 people in the world today, so the devil can not be tempting all of them at a time.

So what makes you think you are so spiritual that he has to attack you? Eve was only one of two people on the earth at that time. The devil could attack directly and focus all his energy on her. So before we blame her for being so weak to fall for the devil lies, we should realize the size of the battle she had on her hand.

A lot of our battles are just influence by circumstances that are around us and some of our own weakness. Do you still think you are Eve? The devil waited till Adam was away from her with no protection. Then he used partial truth which makes it even harder to differentiate.

Bible Changes

A lot of things seem to be pretty good but are a lie from the devil. A course that teaches you to be closer to God is a great thing until you find out that the NIV is the base of the course. And the music is the devil’s music. How is that going to get you closer to God ? When God says not to change His word and gives you proper music. Remember Satan was in charge of the music department in heaven. So what do you think he is going to feed you on earth?

Just like Eve was deceived with perverted words of God so are multitudes today. So make sure you read God’s words and you know what it says. God walked with Adam and Eve in the garden and Satan still deceived her. So you better walk with God or you will be sifted up pretty quickly.

The World is Controlled by the Devil

Not every bad thing comes from the devil. The world is controlled by the devil and he knows his time is short so he has many people that are working for him. And they are used to lure you into all kinds of sin. When a drug dealer offers a teenager some drugs it is not the devil doing it. It is an evil force that is controlled by Satan but not the devil himself. The teenager becomes a victim and if it persists then Satan ends up with another disciple.

The world is full of Satan’s disciples and most of them don’t even know it. They reject God and live to please themselves which is exactly what the devil loves.

We owe our sin nature to Adam and Eve (as we learn in Genesis 3) and the devil is here to encourage us in sin. The world has all the perfect tools to keep us from serving God. Still we have no excuse and no one to blame for our actions because God gave us every thing we need to have victory in our life. His promises are still valid today and we don’t have to live a defeated life.

Genesis 3 Says it all
by: Anonymous

I wish everyone could read this important information. Read it and believe it. If people would only try to serve God they would learn you can actually feel the power of God. It is something you can feel and know that it is God.

But you have to go to a church that believes this also. That can honestly say they have felt the spirit and power of God Almighty.
