Entrepreneur Mindset
Stepping Out Having a Christian entrepreneur mindset means stepping out in faith, with courage, claiming God's promises. The Christian home business entrepreneur does not have the security that the employee has. There are job insecurities which employees face of course: layoffs, downsizing, and technical advances that threaten their security but employees still think in terms of a getting another "job" where someone else is in charge, makes the final decisions, and gives them a paycheck at the end of the week in exchange for their time.
As a Christian entrepreneur, you are a different breed. You will step out into uncharted territory. You must completely rely on God to direct you and provide for your needs through your home based business. When Jesus says, "Come" and you start walking, trust Him. Yes, you will take your eyes off Him on occasion and begin to sink in times of fear. You will doubt if you can do it. You will wonder if this really is God's will. You'll second guess yourself and begin thinking you've made a mistake. Your Christian entrepreneur mindset will waver from time to time. You might even consider going back to the dreaded J.O.B. (just over broke!) God Reliant Granted, you may need to get an intermediate job to support yourself while your business builds. Better still, if you are fortunate enough to have a spouse who will contribute in the early stages, great! Either way, your Christian entrepreneur mindset needs to be 100% God reliant from the start. He is the one who will direct your business. He will grant you wisdom and provide the income you need to keep going if you invite him into every area of your entrepreneur life. You see, being an entrepreneur is more than just another avenue to bring in an income to buy the things you need. Being a Christian entrepreneur is your life; a calling, a profession, given to God to live out for Him. Daily you are growing, changing, progressing; therefore, so will your business be. Like you, a business is a living thing. God Provides A Christian entrepreneur is love in action. Your harvest being the marketplace where Christ moves and acts through you to reach a lost and dying world. You will have the opportunity to be of service to many people over the years. Both saved and unsaved. God is your employer. Do not fear that He will not provide. God promises that, The labourer is worthy of his reward. 1 Timothy 6,18b
