Creation in 6 Days, Not Billions of Years!

Exodus 20:11 Gen 1:1-31 Gen 2:1-3
This week on the radio, a well known preacher was talking about creation. He included Including some theory so he would be politically correct, using a creation of a period of 4 or 5 billion years. I am sorry but I don’t care about political correctness. My concern is what does God say?
The Bible as the Word of God is what matters.
The Bible clearly states that God created all things in the universe in six days.
Exodus 20:11 says, For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
You can choose who you are going to believe but 2 John 1: 9 says, Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
God tells us creation was done in 6 days as we have seen from Exodus 20:11. That is good enough for me. He repeats it in Exodus 31:17, It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel forever; for in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed.
We have no problem holding on the promises of salvation but then we doubt other passages of the Bible. If you don’t believe that God created it all in 6 days why would you believe Him for any of His other promises? I am sure your odds are going to be much greater to get into heaven with the advice of an unsaved scientist (sarcasm intended). It is impossible to have 6 literal days if you are trying to explain evolution, so many scientists are going to put some space between those days.
The end of verse 5 in Genesis 1 gives you some very precise words, And the evening and the morning were the first day. God narrows it down to 24 hours right there and then. If He says it once it should be good enough for any Christian but he repeats it again 5 more times in Gen 1:8, Gen 1:13, Gen 1:19, Gen 1:23, Gen 1:31. Evening and morning is understood by everyone and does not include millions or billions of years. When you put your kids to bed at night and say, “See you in the morning”, they don’t expect to sleep a million years do they?
Think about this for awhile. On day 3, God created plant life. Then on day 4 He created the sun, moon and stars. How long can plants live without the sun? We all know that plants can not survive without the sun, so if there was a big gap between those two days God was not much of a gardener and all His plants died.
Then if there was a long span between each day then on day 6 when He created man how did that happen? Was it at the beginning of that span, the middle, or the very last day? On the 7th day that God rested it must have been the same length as the other days, right? Well here is the problem… the Bible provides a complete genealogy from Adam to Jesus. You can go through the genealogies and add up the years. You'll get a total that is just over 4,000 years. Add the 2,000 years since the time of Jesus and you get just over 6,000 years since God created everything. In Gen 5:5 we learn, And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died. So he did not live for a long time before God gives us the genealogies he lived a total of 930 years period.
My friends, how many times have you been led in error by the world? How many times have you been led in error by God? Never, so don’t try and change the Word of God because somebody has put some doubts in your head. What is even sadder is when Christians believe that God created all that exists with the help of nature and time. Sorry… if you believe that then you are saying that God is a liar. You might not understand every thing and you don’t have to. Just learn to take God at his word. If you do then you won’t be so susceptible to the misconceptions of the world.
