There is no better way to draw nigh unto Him and grow in Grace than to commit yourself to a daily spiritual reading coupled with meditation and prayer and then give away what you have learned.
Simple Truths the Lord SharesThese devotionals are short and sweet and by no means scholarly or profound. They are just simple little truths that the Lord speaks to me about as I spend time with Him on a daily basis. Some come from my Bible reading. Others come from inspirational books or audios. Some from friends & associates, and other sources of inspiration that the Holy Spirit leads me to.
My sincere prayer is that they will be a resource to bless and motivate you on a daily basis.

Day - 1
I asked the Lord today what he would have me learn from Him and what to share with you today. I believe God answers such prayers as this because my Bible says,
"And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us:" 1 John 5:14
As I sat quietly to read my Bible and listen to him, the Lord spoke to me about putting him first.
That still small voice spoke to me about idolatry. What area of my life was God speaking to me about I wondered? How was I going to admit to idolatry and make the necessary changes?
As I prayed and asked for help, he showed me that I was not putting him first in the morning. He pointed out that I was eating my breakfast first and flicking on my computer to check my mail before I spent time with him.
I always thought worshipping idols was bowing down and praying to lifeless statues or being driven 24/7 by the almighty dollar. But now I know it can mean food or another person. It can mean TV or the radio. Or... a simple thing like checking my email before I acknowledge that God is waiting to chat with me.
Lesson Learned: God wants me to enjoy his company in the morning more than I desire to eat my oatmeal and read my mail. "Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen."1 John 5:21
