Information about "branding your business" is important for you as a Christian entrepreneur to have so you understand the basic idea of what branding a business actually means.

Origin of Branding

Business branding is definitely not a new concept. Branding can be traced to the early days of cattle ranching. Each rancher would brand the hide of his herd in order to distinguish his own cattle from those of other ranchers. For economic reasons, these business men needed to brand their cattle in order to protect their business from competitors. Loss of identification meant loss of sales and profits therefore the importance of branding was very significant.

Why Brand Your Home Business?

As with any traditional small business or online opportunity, branding your business is essential to differentiate your product or service from everyone else's.

You need a "unique" business identity. It is especially important in this new age of information and technology. The competition is getting stiffer by day. Customers are becoming more educated, have internet access to every product, service, and business opportunity imaginable. They are bombarded with unlimited choices from promoters and advertisers.

Branding your business effectively will secure satisfied loyal customers as they learn to trust and respect your expertise. You will stand out from the crowd and be an "oasis" from the "noise" if your particular business branding is successfully etched in a potential customer's mind and heart.

When to Begin Branding?

The foundation to branding your business should be laid at the very onset of your new business venture. Making a favorable first impression is business branding in action. It helps a potential customer remember you when they are ready to buy. You need to impress on their minds something unique about your service or product that your competition does not or is unwilling to provide.

Focus on your customers wants and desires. Strive to be the only one who can provide the solution to your customer's problem. Branding your business will pay off if a customer believes his needs will only be met by doing business with you.

How to Brand Your Business?

Perhaps you are the only one who will work one on one with him. Maybe you provide the best value for his money. You might be known for your patience and ongoing support in contrast to the typical pushy salesman approach. These are just a few examples of branding your business.

Branding "Buzz"

Branding your business is your responsibility. If you truly care and want to help your customers, you will naturally provide good service, quality products, prompt delivery, and dependability. Over delivering is an attribute most customers will appreciate as well. They will remember you and tell others about your business.

You'll want your business branding to be the "buzz" in your particular business niche community so make sure it is positive. Bad customer service or sour experiences will create a negative business branding face to the world. It will be very difficult to eradicate a poorly branded business image once imparted. Always keep in mind that creating good business branding is in your control.

Differentiate Yourself

Please do not waste time trying to duplicate someone else's business brand even if their business is similar to yours. Differentiate yourself. Focus on the uniqueness of the service or product that you offer. Not one other person in the world is just like you. God made you special likewise there shouldn't be another business like yours.

Business Reputation

Branding your business takes careful thought and reflection before implementation. Your business branding should permeate every area of your home business... from logo, stationary, and website design, to advertising, sales, follow-up, and service. Be sure you are in control of the way your business is perceived by your customers. Branding your small business is one of the most important aspects of marketing your home business.

Customer Impression

Off-line business branding or branding your online business is no different than personal branding. Everyone of us has our own personal branded image whether we like it or not. Some of us are known for our strengths, some by our weaknesses; perhaps both. The point being, we project a certain image to others; consciously or unconsciously. That is personal branding. Intentionally or not, we expose our true values and character traits. People remember us for the emotions that are evoked when they meet us or do business with us. With God's help, we can mold and shape the personal branding we project to the world as well as our home business branding. Always be open to improvement and change.

Customer Feedback and Response

Personal and business branding should never be a stagnant thing. It's always a good idea to ask for feedback from potential or present customers about how they perceive your business branding. Your customer will brand your business by how they react. Do not be afraid to adjust and revamp your image in order to meet and exceed your customer's expectations. Make sure that what you want to reflect, is what you project.

God Brands Christians

Did you know that even God branded us when we became Christians after accepting the gospel?. The Bible says in Tit 2:14, "Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works." You have been branded by the Almighty a "peculiar" people. You are to be distinguishable from the masses. You are to stand apart; be noticeably different. Knowing you are representing the "King of kings" should encourage you to strive for excellence in your present and future business branding activities.
