Why Use an Autoresponder?

Capture Page and Messages

Autoresponder's usually come with a capture page. On your capture page will be a form for your visitor to enter his name and email address. Capturing a person's name into your data base is done by adding a subscription form to your website, blog, or social networking site, to convert website visitors into targeted prospects for your offers.

Once the visitor has entered his name and email, it triggers the automated sending of pre-written messages that you will have set up about your company or product.

The electronic messages that you send to your opt in list (subscribers) can be as simple as a thank you note for a recent purchase, answers to customers inquiries, or elaborate newsletter type messages that provide product overviews, company updates, upcoming conference calls, or testimonials. You can write a pre-written message for whatever you want to keep your customers informed about.

For Example:

  • Send product update information.
  • Send new product releases.
  • Mail Health Tips and Recipes
  • Show Featured Beverages
  • Broadcast special offers such as coupons.

An autoresponder is also an excellent tool to teach new business affiliates who have joined your MLM or affiliate Program. You could systematically send out pre-written training information to your new member or even to your entire sales team.

Subscriber List Building

You should be building a customer data base consisting of the name, address, and phone number of every person you have made contact with in the course of developing your business from day one to the present. This data base is often referred to as your "list". It is one of the most important "to do's" for the home business owner. An autoresponder is indispensable for building and maintaining this list.

Customer Follow-Up

Follow-up is very important for the success of your home based business. It is important to have immediate and long term contact with potential or existing customers. Purchasing an autoresponder for this purpose from the start of your business is a wise decision. It will save you much time and make follow-up a simple and more efficient practice.

Five to Seven Followup Exposures

Studies have shown that most people need between 5-7 exposures before they make a decision to buy or make subsequent purchases. Messages can be sent to an individual or to your entire customer data base in a single broadcast or spread out over several days. They allow you to control the dates and number of times messages are sent out. For example, you could set up your responder to send a message immediately, then 2 days later a different message, on day 5 you could send yet another, day seven a 4th message and so forth.

No Spamming

Autoresponders are not to be used as a spamming device. Do not send unsolicited email to people with this software. The contacts in your data base should consist of people who have actually asked you for information. Contacts can be made from networking activities on-line and off-line.

These contacts would be directed to your capture page by clicking on a link that takes them to the sign up form to request information. These people are expecting mail from you because they have given you permission to contact them. You can keep in touch with them on a regular basis via your follow up messages.

Happy Customers

Do not abuse your contact's trust by constantly soliciting them with over-hyped sales pitches. Simply remind your contacts that you are still in business by providing them with free quality information on an ongoing basis through your automatic messages and you will be rewarded with happy, loyal, and repeat customers.

Traffic Wave

Roger and I use the Traffic Wave auto-responder for our Christian Based Business. Click here to check it out.

Traffic Wave is very user friendly and even gives you a free 30 day trial so you can test out the system before you decide to purchase it. There are several different autoresponders on the market to choose from with different "bells and whistles" but we found Traffic Wave to be sufficient for our needs and... the price was right too!
